There are close links between the creative process and the psychological process of becoming more fully alive.
Though much of our current education and environment undermines our creativity, it is an innate potential within each of us. Our task is not to seek out something new, but to focus our attention on releasing what is already inside us to support our growth.
Often what blocks our full creative expression is what blocks us psychologically.
“The mainspring of creativity seems to be a man or woman’s tendency to actualize him or herself, to become his/her potentialities. It exits in every individual and awaits only the proper conditions to be released and expressed.” – Carl Rogers
Catherine is passionate about working with both groups and individuals to realise their full creative potential. She works creatively in her sessions with individuals, and runs groups based on The Artists’ Way, by Julia Cameron, which are designed to support people in unblocking, expanding or discovering their creativity at any stage of their creative journey.
“The essence of creativity is being in love with what one is doing and this makes possible all the other characteristics of the creative person: courage, independence of thought and judgment, honesty, perseverance, curiosity, and willingness to take risks.” – Torrance, E.P. The Nature of Creativity
